Armed Fighbird (武装ファイバード | Busou Fighbird) is a Brave Robot from The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird TV series. He is formed from the Armed Combination (武装合体 | Busou Gattai) of Fighbird and the Flame Breaster. In the anime, he is only referred to as "Fighbird".

Overview

When neccessary, Fighbird will summon the Flame Breaster by sending a signal orb into the sky. The Flame Breaster will then combine and form the front skirt, chest and head armor for Fighbird, thus completing Armed Fighbird. This is Yuutarou Katori's main combat mecha for the first half of the series. Armed Fighbird can transform into his jet mode with the Flame Breaster docked, so technically he still has an alternate mode.

In order to combine with Jet Granbird to form Great Fighbird, however, both robots will have to ditch their support units (the Flame Breaster and Breaster Jet respectively). However, the Flame Breaster can still merge with the Flame Sword and become Great Fighbird's main weapon while the Breaster Jet can become Great Fighbird's shield.

Armaments & Attacks

• Fire Rod (ファイヤーロッド)

Similar to Fighbird, the Fire Rod parts are still stored in front of Armed Fighbird's legs but they are never seen used.

• Flame Sword (フレイムソード)

A sword stored in the Fire Jet's nosecone section, which is now situated on Armed Fighbird's back and draws power from the Flame Breaster. It is the Brave's main weapon.

• Flame Barrier (フレイムバリア)

A small protective barrier generated from the Flame Sword.

• Sun Slicer (サンスライサー)

The circular emblem's spiked outer ring on Armed Fighbird's chest can be used as a razor-sharp throwing weapon.

• Flame Cannon (フレイムキャノン)

A pair of cannons mounted on Armed Fighbird's back, inherited from the Flame Breaster.

• Dyna Buster (ダイナーバスター)

Armed Fighbird can still use the forearm-mounted Dyna Busters, similar to Fighbird. It seems that this time however, the weapon fires yellow bullets instead of blue.

• Flare Missile (フレアミサイル)

A salvo of missiles unleashed from Armed Fighbird's legs, inherited from Fighbird. It seems that there are 6 missiles per leg, for a total of 12 missiles.

• Flame Sword - Charge Up (フレイムソード・チャージアップ)

Armed Fighbird's finishing move. The Flame Sword is be charged with energy and engulfed in flames as Armed Fighbird dashes towards the target, slicing the enemy apart thereafter.

• Full Blast (フルブラスト)

An alternative to Armed Fighbird's first finishing move, in which he will unleash the Flame Cannons, Dyna Busters and Flare Missiles at the same time in a continuous volley. It is powerful enough to completely destroy a Mecha-Juu.

• Gathering Slash (ギャザリングスラッシュ)

A combination attack with Thunder Baron, where Thunder Baron will use the Thunder Anchors to grab hold of the enemy and slam them down on the ground, followed Armed Fighbird finishing the enemy with his Flame Sword - Charge Up attack. Unnamed in the anime. In Brave Saga 2, the attack is carried out by Thunder Baron first shooting a Thunder Anchor at the enemy and pulling the target towards him, as Armed Fighbird charges up from behind and slashes the enemy with his Flame Sword.

History

During Fighbird's first battle, his power proved to be unequal to Draias' monster, so he summoned in the Flame Breaster and combined into Armed Fighbird, dispatching the monster shortly thereafter.
