Kanta (カンタ) and Mei (メイ) are the player's characters in the spin-off Brave Saga New Chapter: Astaria. You get to choose between the two of them at the start of the game.

Male protagonist avatar. A 10-year old boy living in Astaria, always playing baseball with his close friend Gunber. His father is one of the royal guards and works with Father.
- Mei
Female protagonist avatar. Kanta's energetic younger twin sister who likes baseball just like he does. She is often with her brother and is on good terms with Gunber and the others.
History[]
One day our protagonist and Gunber were playing baseball and accidentally broke a seal that kept the ancient Demon Jerkin trapped within. After the Demon escapes, he kidnaps the unselected protagonist and Zetter, Gunber's older brother.
The Queen of Astaria sends our protagonist and Gunber on a mission together to seal the Demon Jerkin once again.

- Even though this game is a spin-off, Mei is technically the first & only female protagonist in the Brave Saga game series and the franchise as a whole.
